Job announcement – Lab technician for the Science department at ISSR

The International School of the Stockholm Region is a publically funded international school which exists primarily to serve the educational needs of the transient and/or international community of Stockholm. The school runs the International Baccalaureate’s curricula.  The Primary Years Program (PYP) is offered to students from 5-11 years of age, the Middle Years Program (MYP) is offered to students from 11-16 and the Diploma Program (DP) is available for students from 16-19 year of age.  The school’s language of instruction is English for all subjects. At ISSR, students can receive an internationally-recognized education in English from 5 to 19 years of age in one location in the center of Stockholm.

Job description:

ISSR needs a part-time (50%) laboratory technician for the Science department at ISSR, starting in August 2019. The main role of the lab technician is to prepare labs and maintain the Science department in collaboration with the head of department.

Responsibilities include:

• Working closely with the head of department for Science
• Collaborating with teaching staff to organize equipment requirements, work plans, and scheduling of labs.
• Maintaining and repairing equipment
  • Testing equipment prior to running a lab
  • Overseeing the inventory / broken / disposal of equipment/supplies
• Spatial organisation of materials & equipment
• Preparing equipment and chemicals before and after a lesson/lab
• Routine ordering, unpacking
• Supporting DP students in IA work

 

Qualifications:

• Formal educational background in Science
• Proficiency written and spoken English

 

Anställningsomfattning:

Form: Visstidsanställning ett år

Omfattning: Deltid 50%
