Allmän information:

The International School of the Stockholm Region is a small publically funded international school which exists primarily to serve the educational needs of the transient and/or international community of Stockholm. The school runs the International Baccalaureate’s curricula. The Primary Years Programme (PYP) is offered to students from 5-11 years of age and the Middle Years Programme (MYP) is offered to students from 11-16 and the Diploma Programme (DP) is offered to students from 16-19 years of age. The schools language of instruction is English for all subjects. At ISSR students can receive an internationally-recognized education in English from 5 to 19 years of age in one location in the center of Stockholm.

Beskrivningen:

This fall ISSR will need a school counselor for students ranging from 11-19 years of age with occasional consulting in the 5-10 years range. The counselor will be a part of the student care team and the pastoral care team, working together with advisors and administrators to monitor the social/emotional needs of the ISSR student body.  

Responsibilities include:

• Collaborate with community resources (social services, psychiatric services, law enforcement, young health care centers, etc.)
• Work with students with acute needs
• Work preventatively in advisory and whole school context
• Conduct professional conversations with individual students and their families.
• Being a member of the student health care teams and the pastoral care team.
• Participating in establishing, implementing and revising intervention plans.

 

Qualifications:

• Socionomexamen or equivalent
• Communicates easily in spoken and written Swedish and English

 

Other qualifications may also include:

• Worked as a school counselor in a Swedish setting
• Experienced in working with social work organizations

• Competent with IT (Windows platform, Smartboard, HTML, and other tools for learning).
