Description of the school

Kungsholmens gymnsium/Stockholms musikgymnasium is a well-established and successful inner-city upper secondary school. Our Vision is Education and Culture for an Active Influence in a Globalised World. We strive to make our students independent and Active learners who will be prepared to take responsibility in the World around them, both during their time here at school and in their lives when they leave us.

The school has three sections:

International Section where all of the teaching is in English offering the Natural Science and Social Science programmes

Svenska sektionen där undervisningen sker på svenska på Humanistiska programmet, Naturvetenskapsprogrammet och Samhällsvetenskapsprogrammet

Körsektionen som erbjuder en särskild variant av Natur- och Samhällsvetenskapsprogrammet i kombination med körsång på en avancerad nivå.

Skolan har också språkintroduktionsprogrammet för elever som nyligen har kommit till Sverige.

Our teachers work in teams and our prioritised areas for development are:

1. Collaboration promoting a sustainable Learning Environment helping students to explore a larger field of knowledge and develop an increasingly scientific approach.

2. The school is an inclusive organization characterized by learning where staff learn from each other and their experiences in order to systematically develop teaching and other activities.

3. Digitalization and ICT are Tools used to promote student learning and efficient Communication.

We have active and motivated students, a strong Student Union and many student clubs and associations ranging from the Debating Society to Amnesty International or from fikaföreningen to KGIF.

Job Description

We have a vacancy for a teacher of Psychology within the International Section. The post is two 50 Point courses in Psychology 2 in the spring term with two 3rd year classes.

Qualifications

You should have a University Degree in psychology and a teaching qualification within the Swedish system. You should also have Teacher Certification from Skolverket.

You should be able to teach in English at native speaker level but you also require a working level of Swedish as both languages are used in the workplace.

Conditions

You would be employed by the City of Stockholm and the post is available for the remainder of the spring term with a possibility of an extension for fully qualified candidates.
