English language and literature teacher at ISSR

Allmän information:

The International School of the Stockholm Region is a publicly funded international school in Stockholm. The school runs the International Baccalaureate’s curricula.  The Primary Years Program (PYP) is offered to students from 5-11 years of age, the Middle Years Program (MYP) is offered to students from 11-16 and the Diploma Program (DP) is available for students from 16-19 year of age.  The school’s language of instruction is English for all subjects.

Tjänstebeskrivning:

ISSR is looking for an experienced English language and literature teacher to teach in grades 6-9 in the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP). The position is a 50% position, starting in August, 2023. It is a cover for a parental leave for the school year 2023/24.

Responsibilities:     

• Plan and document high quality learning experiences for students
• Maintain an engaging and organized learning environment
• Participate and contribute to the planning with the team and MYP coordinator(s)
• Participate in school activities (assemblies, evening events, conferences, etc.)
• Be an advisor for 12-15 students
• Maintain ongoing parent/school communication regarding students’ development
• Continued professional development

Requirements:

• Certified teacher with a degree in English language and literature for ages 10- 15
• Professional level written and spoken English

Other qualifications may also include:

• Highly skilled in educational-based IT platforms (Outlook, Google for Education suite and other education web-based programs)
• Experience working in the IB Middle Years Programme
