Description of the Workplace

Kungsholmens gymnasium/Stockholms Musikgymnasium has about 1,300 students and just over 100 employees, 75 of those are teachers. We offer the Natural Science programme, the Social Science programme, the Humanities programme, the International Business programme and Language Introduction. Our vision is Knowledge and Culture for an Active Influence in a Globalized world and our ambition is to develop students' knowledge and promote their readiness to meet future challenges. We want students to be able to take responsibility for and influence the future development of society in a sustainable global perspective. The school offers an exciting environment with its three sections; the Swedish section, the Choir section and the International section. The sections interact with each other within the school. In the International section the language of instruction is English, but we follow the Swedish curriculum. Music is of great importance to our school and the school's Choir classes are an important institution in Stockholm's music life. In addition, we have an active Student Union with a rich sports and association life. We are continuously developing our systematic quality work and pedagogical development. For several years we have worked with professional development with a focus on sustainable learning. Our school is characterized by diversity and tolerance and we are ranked very highly by students in terms of well-being and that they are happy to recommend their school to others. Job Description

We have a vacancy for a qualified teacher of Psychology 1 and 2 within our Social Science programme in our International Section where students are taught in English. There is also a course in Psychology 1 in the Choir section and this course is taught in Swedish. This is a 25 % post which could be permanent for those with the required qualifications. This post could also be combined with one of the other vacancies we have advertised to make a higher percentage post.

Qualifications required

We presume that you have a University degree in Psychology and a Teaching Certificate from Skolverket. 

You should be proficient in using ICT in the classroom and also with Distance Learning as there is a possibility that this will be required in the coming academic year.


Other information

You should also be interested in cooperating with colleagues around the whole study situation for  students.

The school is a well organised workplace with many colleagues in a variety of ages and with a variety of backgrounds. We also have a professional Student Health Team (Student Counsellors, Careers Guidance Counsellors, School Nurses and Special Needs Teachers) who can offer support in working with our students.
